Creating lasting value, on and off site
We are committed to creating lasting social value in the communities where we work, supporting local people through employment, education, and community-led projects.
As part of this commitment, we have recently taken on a full-time bricklaying apprentice, helping to develop the next generation of skilled tradespeople. We also continue to engage with local and wider education providers, including hosting visits from Rydal School and Llandrillo College. These visits give students the opportunity to tour our sites, meet our site management teams, and take part in Q&A sessions to learn more about careers in construction.
We have also supported work placements within the business, with two placements successfully leading to employment. These individuals have since joined the team in Banksman and Labourer roles.
Our support for the local community also extends beyond employment and skills. At Ysgol Emrys ap Iwan, we assisted with groundworks for a new outdoor classroom. This included clearing an overgrown waste area, excavating the site, cutting back trees and bushes, and helping to create a stable and accessible space for students of all abilities. This was delivered in partnership with our wider supplier network, including support for sensory, play, and planting areas.
At Maes Canol, we provided engineering support in conjunction with Cartrefi Conwy and Creating Enterprise to mark out the locations for trees and planting areas ahead of community planting activities.
We also supported the Pensarn Clean-Up Day by providing tradespeople to work around the housing estate and assist local residents with the removal of excess waste that had built up over time. This waste was then transported to Creating Enterprise skips located on our Pensarn project.
Looking ahead, on Friday 20 March 2026, Vectorex have kindly offered to sponsor and support the local Pensarn Pickers for an afternoon of litter picking along the main road between Pensarn and Belgrano.
These initiatives reflect our ongoing commitment to making a positive difference locally by creating opportunities, supporting communities, and leaving a lasting legacy beyond the projects we deliver.
